WILFLEX
Committed to eco ink development
Published:  01 May, 2008

As a name synonymous with market leading plastisol inks, Wilflex is responding to the move towards phthalate-free and PVC-free inks by further expanding and developing its ranges.

Thanks in part to a new development in plasticiser, the world leading Epic Phthalate Free range of plastisol ink has recently had a number of its products upgraded. This upgrade, offers significant advantages over not only current Epic, but also competitive products, says Wilflex.

Not content with the Epic upgrade, Quantum One, the global benchmark for all PVC/Phthalate plastisol is also being improved. Despite the move away from PVC being discussed for a number of years, the last nine months has seen a significant increase in demand for this product, says the company.

Following a recent acquisition within the PolyOne group of companies, new technology has become available that allows Wilflex to dramatically increase the performance characteristics of Quantum One. Further updates on this new development will follow later in the year.

Launched at Fespa 2007, the Dispense Master 4, (DM4), which Wilflex claims to be the world's first truly viable plastisol dispenser, is fast proving itself invaluable to a number of print shops globally.

"With print prices becoming ever more competitive, the need for internal production efficiencies for the printer has never been so great," it says. "The DM4, with its reliable easy to use system, delivers consistently accurate Pantone numbers, time and time again. With its ultra fast dispensing system, printers are able to speedily mix on a ‘just in time basis', thus reducing the burden of waste ink, that we are all too familiar with."

The company adds: "This time-proven technology, with virtually no moving machine parts is all part of the Wilflex drive to improve printer efficiency."

The DM4 is fully compatible with, and is being used with both the MX and Epic ranges of Plastisol products from Wilflex.

Part of the PolyOne Corporation which has a $3bn turnover, Wilflex is the world leader in supply of Plastisol products for the Textile Printing Industry.
