A new product has been launched that claims to help save the planet and cut energy bills by up to £50 a year.
Available through Firebrand, the Eco-button, works by sending computers into an energy saving eco-mode when the user has to answer the phone or takes a break. Pressing any computer key allows the user to carry on where they left off without having to restart their machine, says Firebrand.
A pop-up window appears when the computer is reactivated, showing the user how much energy, power and money has been saved with the use of the Eco-button.
The pop-up window is a promotional opportunity, as it is an ideal canvas for a marketing message and logo, claims the company. A promotional message or logo can also be imprinted onto the button itself.
The Eco-Button, which slots into the computer's USB port, is made from recycled plastic and retails at under £10.
The product, by Bright Ideas Global, won Promotional Product of the Year at the recent Printwear & Promotion Excellence Awards. See pages 43 & 44 for details.
