Printwear & Promotion 2008 was "the best show ever" for Kwik Tapes, which launched its new iron- and sew-on labels and mini laptop printing package, securing £25,000 worth of sales.
"The show was terrific for us," said md John Baines. "Our stand was packed from start to finish and we made sales of around £25,000. It was definitely the best ever for us."
The package on offer at the show consisted of a mini laptop and printer with Kwik Tapes' software installed, worth £1,000 but being offered at £500 for the duration of the show only.
Having sold three packages to three different sports shops during the show, Kwik Tapes was later invited to a seminar where it sold a further 30 packages to other sports shops.
Reaction was also positive to the company's new iron- and sew-on labels, which are already in use in Marks & Spencer, said Baines. "The labels have been stringently tested to dispel the myth that iron-on labels fall off," he explained. "They are unique because they are actually high quality woven labels so can either be ironed or sewn on, and can be pre-printed using our printer at a rate of 50 labels in 7 seconds."
He added: "It was really exciting at the show to share the concept with the market and get some feedback. We are already being asked for variations and are looking at ways of altering the software to accommodate different requirements."
