Essential Embroidery Design have become the first promotional production facility in Europe to invest in the latest industrial speed digital garment textile printer.
Adelco Screen Process worked with Essential Embroidery to demonstrate the unique abilities of the Kornit 931 printer. Mark Smith from Adelco commented, 'Essential Embroidery Design first saw the machine printing at the Ideas show in Amsterdam and could immediately see the advantages in print quality and pre press savings that this system could bring to their client base. The loss of film and screen costs as well as set up time is an advantage that could not be ignored, but it is the quality and consistency of print that first took their eye.'
Essential Embroidery Design has established a reputation within the promotional market as an innovative company, where investment in cutting-edge technology is always a priority.
In fact, Managing Director George Georgiou replaces his embroidery machines every five years. George comments on the latest investment, 'We've been looking at expanding the range of garment decoration services we offer in-house for some time, but we didn't want to go down the route of conventional screen-printing.
'Becoming the first promotional garment decorator in Europe to offer digital printing gives us a great point of differentiation in the market place and ensures that our customers receive the highest quality services, whether we're embroidering or printing.'
The D.O.G. (direct on garment) digital system has been in development by Kornit, Israel over the last three years and was launched in the US and Amsterdam last October. There are currently 21 machines installed or on order, most for the US market.
The unique ink system coupled with the 256 nozzle Industrial Digital print head provides unparalleled depth and quality of print, exceptional full colour half tone output and unmatched print speeds.
The first samples of direct digital printing onto dark shirts, which will be on show at the Fespa show in Munich in June, are set to cause a stir. Whilst printing on to dark fabrics is not currently available for commercial output, it is at the forefront of Kornits research schedule and is anticipated to be available shortly.
