T Shirt Printers (TSP), the Leeds-based low carbon printer, has implemented a price reduction programme for both lower quantities and simpler prints.
Joe Moore, commercial director, said the efficiency gains achieved by operating six (mainly MHM) automatics meant that TSP could not only turn out huge numbers, but had also eliminated internal queuing.
"This gives us the flexibility to cope with smaller orders more efficiently and within our usual five working days lead time," he said. "We have put in place reductions at 200 prints and have significantly reduced the 25, 50 and 100 level for three colours or less."
As well as being a straightforward commercial decision, made possible by continuing investment in technology, TSP said the move fitted well with its low carbon philosophy.
Tony Moore, MD, said: "This sort of work has traditionally been done in smaller print shops, using electric or propane fuelled curing ovens, which are less efficient and have a much larger carbon footprint than our high speed, high capacity driers.
" We can now offer the price and flexibility of the small print shop with the low carbon benefits of high tech and high capacity curing ovens."
He added: "Businesses in this trade now have a real option to lower the carbon footprint of their print work - it will be interesting to see if they take it up."
