FINDEN+HALES
Game on for children
Published:  28 February, 2008

The advantage for the printer and embroiderer using established supply clothing brands to source schoolwear as opposed to high street alternatives such as Asda is the continuity of supply, says Finden+Hales. "Supply clothing brands are able to offer the same style, fit, fabric and colourways year on year where supermarkets and the high street are subject to change due to fashion influences," it explains.

"This does not mean however that the supply clothing industry should not be offering fashion led products for this market. School children are becoming ever increasingly street smart and often will ask for garments such as a Showerproof jacket or comfortable yet smart track pants - replacing the traditional blazer and polyester trouser combo."

Finden+Hales has been quick to pick up on this trend and says it offers practical alternatives to the traditional uniform, offering seven styles, from the sports poloshirt to the piped microfibre tracksuit.

A key product for this market is the Piped Showerproof Jacket. Available in seven colours and three ages, this jacket is lightweight, can be packed into a schoolbag for trepidation of the showery British weather and is unlined so is also good for printing and embroidering.

With the worrying increase in obesity and gang cultures, school sporting campaigns are now of increased importance to raise awareness of the importance of health and teamwork. With this in mind, the Piped Showerproof Jacket for adults and kids is available in four colourways, with added design features such as embroidery access and mp3 pocket.
