HENBURY
Classics to meet demand
Published:  28 February, 2008

Schoolwear plays such an important part of the market and Henbury has a number of products that fulfil this demand, such as the children's and adults' tipped polo shirt, which offers an alternative to the traditional solid dye polo shirt.

Henbury created this Original Tipped Polo Shirt a number of years ago to great success and it also has a certain fashion element to it. The contrast tipping on the collar and cuffs gives schools or clubs the opportunity to co-ordinate House Colours as well as contrasting opposition colours for their sports teams. "These polo shirts are also excellent for out of school clubs and societies and can be used for identifying different team colours such as football or netball teams, it says." They are available in a 200g 65% polyester 35% cotton pique, which can be washed at 60 degrees and tumble dried with minimum ironing. The children's polo (H459) is available in ages 3/4 to 11/12 years and is also fully coordinated with the adult version (H450) sizes S to XXL. The durability is further enhanced by the exclusive Henbury Stand Up Collar and is the perfect vehicle for embroidery, says Henbury.

Many of Henbury's other products are also available from an XS to a XXL, which are ideal for older children. Its Classic 100% cotton Pique (H100) is available in 38 colours. "Almost every colour is catered for and the quality of the 100% cotton 225-gram pique is exceptional," says Henbury. "With a ladies version (H121), it offers the perfect choice for any secondary modern club or school." Henbury's core 65/35 pique is also offered in a ladies' version which is available from a size XS and the men's goes up to 5XL.

For something a little more fashionable, Henbury says its Hoodie (H812) offers children the type of garments they actually want to wear. "Some schools have already seen this potential and adopted them as their official uniform," it says. The Henbury hoodie also come in an XS - XXL and has design features such as the double hood, rivet panelling under the arms and a kangaroo pocket.

Henbury's MicroFleece Jacket (H850) available from XS - XXL is another popular style and one that the children will also want to wear. Teamed up with the ladies' version (H851) they are both made in luxurious 280 gram 1005 polyester Micro Fibre that washes well and is exceptionally quick drying. Available in 12 colours across the two styles and sizes S-XXL, they also have an interactive zipper allowing them to be zipped into the Showerproof Jacket (H830/831).

Henbury believes that companies are increasingly under pressure to keep prices even lower as a result of competition from the major retailers. "It is a very competitive market and I am sure it is just a matter of time before the supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco come up with an in store embroidery concept so you can buy you clothes, take them to be enboirered and then collect them on your way out," says Katie Stewart.
