Pupils from local schools are being encouraged by Regatta to work towards a healthier lifestyle. The outdoor clothing company is supporting several primary school schemes within the Trafford area, which includes Walking Buses and the annual Trafford School Meals Week.
The Walking Bus projects, with the help of volunteers and Trafford City Council, ensure pupils walk to school from designated points in a small group. Regatta helps by providing the vital fluorescent waistcoats needed to ensure the pupils wearing them can be well seen by drivers in the busy rush hour traffic.
Regatta also offers all the children who regularly take part in Walking Bus the opportunity to be entered in a monthly prize draw for the chance to win Regatta clothing.
As well as the Walking Bus initiative, Regatta is also supporting the Trafford School Meals Week, which is aimed at educating children about eating a nutritious and balanced diet.
Regatta MD Keith Black says: "As a Manchester based company involved heavily in the healthy outdoor lifestyle, we are more than happy to support our schools in the surrounding area. I have young children myself and understand the importance of regular exercise and a balanced diet to ensure they grow up to become healthy adults and we will continue to provide assistance to the schemes for the foreseeable future"
