Sourcing company Tomato Source has introduced an innovative new item to the promotional industry.

The GreenSeat is the UK's first disposable cardboard seat with a backrest that's fully collapsible to form a flat pack. GreenSeat is made from part recycled cardboard and is 100% recyclable.

Made from renewable resources, it can be re-used and is distributed flat on pallets. Production costs are low even for small volumes, and the seats ship on standard pallets to simplify distribution.

"GreenSeat offers promoters or sponsors an excellent way of interacting with an audience by offering a really acceptable and useful product that can be used as a giveaway, or even sold at the event," said Tomato Source director Emma Beeson.

"The large back rest area offers a large, flat branding space, clearly visible to the audience, while the integrated carrying handle encourages users to take the GreenSeat home and extend the brand awareness whilst reducing waste. Alternatively, organisers can implement the GreenSeat takeback scheme, where collected cardboard can be sold on for recycling."

Tomato Source recently won the British Promotional Merchandise Association's (BPMA's) Best Newcomer award for "its commitment and enthusiasm in its product offering" and was commended for its GreenSeat and biodegradable rain ponchos.

GreenSeat is available in the UK exclusively through Bristol-based Tomato Source (www.tomato-source.co.uk).

Tomato Source has been selected as one of the finalists for the Promotional Product of the Year Award in the Printwear & Promotion Excellence Awards. For more details and information on how to vote, turn to pages 67-77.
