The humble t-shirt started off life as underwear and soared to iconic fashion status in the 50s when Hollywood made t-shirt wearing cool and rebellious, says Finden+Hales.
A fantastic advertising medium for slogans and designs, the t-shirt became a vehicle for advertising with rock bands and hence the merchandising/ promotional tee was born. And what better way to effectively personalise a team logo than on a T-shirt?
Finden+Hales' new 2008 range offers seven T-shirt designs from 100% cotton to 100% Coolplus Performance. A classic sporting style, the LV301 Sports T with twin shoulder stripes is a favourite for both fashion and teamwear, says the company. "A proven thoroughbred, this style is almost 'classic' in status as it been around in the retail and promotional markets for many years," it says.
It is made from 100% cotton single jersey and is available in five colours and sizes S-XXL.
A new addition to the 100% Cotton range is the LV202 Panel T Shirt with contrast underarm panelling and white piping. This T-shirt has plenty of space on the chest and back for logos and is available in four striking colour options and sizes S-XXL.
Performance fabrics with functional properties such as moisture management and water resistance have become increasingly popular in recent years, says Finden+Hales.
"Moisture management to keep the wearer cool and dry is thought to be one of the key performance criteria in today's clothing industry," it says. "Finden+Hales' new Coolplus fabric does just this."
Made in 210gsm pique Finden+Hales has two introductory t-shirt styles in this fabric. The Piped Performance T-shirt LV270 features distinctive raglan styling with white piping and is designed to co-ordinate with any of the Finden+Hales teamwear product range. Slim fitting and available in red, black, navy and white, in sizes S-XXL. The Sleeveless Piped T LV273 is available in black and white and in sizes S-XXL.
When the sun is shining, Finden+Hales' Aridus comfort control range of T-shirts is designed to reduce skin temperature and improve airflow.
Aridus is a double-layered fabric where the mesh layer allows the transfer of moisture to the outside, while the front face of the fabric has been designed with the needs of printers and embroiderers in mind. Its single jersey construction provides a smooth flat knit surface for printing and embroidering.
The LV701 Aridus T Shirt has raglan sleeves, contrast panel and piping, while the LV702 Aridus Team T has LHS contrast vertical panel and piping. Both Aridus Ts are available in team colours and sizes S-2XL and are with Aridus fabric are designed to perform in any condition.
"The t-shirt has certainly stood the test of time and it has a long way to go yet," concludes Finden+Hales.
