BLUE MAX UNVEILS BRAND NEW PRICING STRATEGY AND NEW PRODUCTS
The Blue Max Group, leading provider of clothing to the school, work and leisure wear sectors, has announced a brand new strategy for 2008 which it says will offer customers a new and simplified pricing strategy, and a reduction in pricing on many items

Since the acquisition of the Stag Knitwear Company last year, Blue Max has gone from strength to strength, particularly in the school wear market, now offering a one stop shop to its customers. With the buying now done centrally for both parts of the business, Blue Max has increased its power in the market place, and as a result, says it has been able to buy the same quality and standard at even more competitive prices, the benefits of which will be passed straight on to customers.

Price reductions year on year of up to 20% have been applied to a number of lines, including blazers, knitwear, trousers and skirts.

Simplicity is also key. Taller children no longer have to pay the price for their size! Price lists have been rationalised as far as possible so that there is only one price for VATable garments and one price for non-VATable garments. In future, many other premiums have been removed so that customers will no longer have to pay a extra on such things as longer length skirts, light blue shirts and coloured blazers.

And there will be no additional charges for many specials lines including stripes on knitwear, piping on sweatshirts and coloured collars or cuffs on the Medallion range of rugby shirts.

David Fawcus, Managing Director of the Blue Max Group, explains the rationale for this new strategy: “Different prices for different lengths, colours, larger sizes are not only complicated for our customers to understand but difficult and time consuming for us to calculate. A more ‘one price fits all’ approach will simplify the whole process to the ultimate benefit of both our customers and ourselves.”

The new pricing strategy coincides with the launch of the latest Blue Max brochure – a ‘one stop shop’ brochure featuring the entire spectrum of the group’s ever-increasing portfolio of products.

The acquisition of Stag last year has turned the Blue Max group into one of the biggest all round UK-based suppliers of clothing to the schoolwear industry. Now customers can choose from a vast range of stock items that not only incorporate the ever popular and reliable Blue Max polos, sweats and fleeces but also Stag's range of school skirts, pinafores, trousers, blazers and a knitwear collection, which now includes trhe introduction of X-trelle, a superb yarn offering high performance combined with a soft feel.

In addition, Blue Max is to introduce even more schoolwear choice to the latest brochure. The versatile quarter zip Micro fleece provides a fashionable, functional extra layer for school children of all ages and a great alternative to the more traditional sweatshirt, suggests Blue Max, and a full zip jumper is now available in a variety of sizes and colours. The ever popular ladies microfleece and ladies Oxford shirt, both featuring a flattering, gently fitted shape, are to be introduced for the first time ever in a size 6 to appeal to a secondary school audience. The classic men's Oxford shirt will also be made available as a schoolwear item with the introduction of smaller sizes starting from a 12 1/2" collar size .

The new brochure follows on from this year’s relaunch of the Blue Max website, a new and improved site featuring the whole Blue Max side of the portfolio complete with succinct product descriptors, imagery and colour swatches. A Vanilla version of the site (www.clothesforyou.co.uk) means that customers can imbed the Blue Max website, into their own – a service that is offered entirely free of charge.
