A sneak preview of the 2008 Printwear & Promotion Exhibition, with information from the exhibitors and details of the new developments, which you won’t want to miss
Published:  17 January, 2008

Printwear & Promotion – THE annual trade show for the UK garment decoration and promotional products industry – is back for 2008 with some exciting changes and developments.

The three-day event incorporates the world’s leading brands available through UK-based distributors, together with manufacturers and distributors of embroidery machines and accessories, screen printing and digital printing technology and many other techniques for garment decoration. This year sees some new faces, such as Drucktech KFT, Monopolo, Sharon Lee and Castle Clothing. Also returning after a three-year break are Manchester Clothing and B&B Leisurewear.

Last year, record numbers of visitors flooded through the doors, helping to make the event a complete success and providing exhibitors with the chance to generate new sales leads as well as catch up with some of their existing customers. The exhibition is also a vital opportunity for new and existing buyers to see and feel the garments and products ‘in the flesh’, rather than just in a brochure format, and so encourages more purchases on the day.

The exhibition is held in the Birmingham NEC, the UK’s leading venue, allowing easy access for visitors.

Excellence Awards

New for 2008 are the Printwear & Promotion Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner, which will be held in the National Motorcycle Museum, adjacent to the NEC, on the Monday night of the exhibition. The glittering awards ceremony will enhance all that the exhibition has to offer and will give the industry the recognition it deserves.

The awards will recognise and promote best practice in the areas of technical innovation, customer service and support, and energy saving and environmental concern. Your votes will count, so ensure you vote for the finalists when they appear in the magazine. You can vote quickly and easily online by visiting our website, www.printwearandpromotion.co.uk.

Seminars

Also new to the event is a series of ‘learn shop’ seminars, given by industry experts, which have been designed to educate and inspire visitors, so they can leave feeling they have learnt something really valuable to help them in their business. For full details of the seminars, see right.

Of course, there are always the on-stand product and machinery demonstrations, showcasing the very latest in garment decoration technology, as well as a comprehensive array of samples, freebies and promotional giveaways to take away.

Garment decoration awards

All visitors have access to the ever-popular Garment Decoration Awards, where the very best examples of garment decoration are on display, to be judged by our panel on the first day. The awards have been revamped for 2008 to make them more comprehensive, with new categories of ‘Best digital print’ and ‘Best dye sublimation’ being added. Look out for the winners, which will be announced during the exhibition. And for details of how to enter, go to www.printwearandpromotion.co.uk.

Fashion Shows

There’s a relaxed side to the exhibition too, with the fashion shows and dance routines to lift the atmosphere. The fashion shows are not only an opportunity for brands to showcase their ranges, they also provide an entertaining, yet informative break from business for visitors and exhibitors.

Pre-registration for the exhibition is easy – go to www.printwearandpromotion.co.uk and register free of charge now. Printwear & Promotion is undoubtedly exciting, with fashion shows and eye-catching new ranges from all the leading companies. But aside from this, it is likely to be one of the most profitable events you will ever attend.
