Castle Clothing Ltd may be a new name to some P&P readers, but it is certainly not a new name within the workwear industry, with over 35 years’ experience supplying mainly industrial distributors nationally.
“You can be assured that when it comes to workwear, we have the experience,” says sales director Kevin Selwood. “We are in an excellent position to grow our business and the supply of products to the decorated garment industry.”
This year the company has revamped its product range, catalogue and website. It has also introduced a new sub brand to its range, called Tuffstuff.
“This collection is aimed at professional tradesmen and has been designed with influences from European-styled work garments,” says Selwood. “The products have been manufactured with technical fabrics which perform for the user but are also aesthetically pleasing.”
Products launched this year or that would be of particular interest to the printwear market include: the new 229 TuffStuff Bodywarmer and the 266 Tuffstuff Bomber Jacket, says Selwood. Both garments have been constructed from an extremely hardwearing polyester Oxford waterproof fabric and have the added benefit of retro reflective stripes, sturdy zips, fleece lined hand-warmer pockets and embroidery access zip. They are available in sizes M – XXXL.
Also of interest, suggests Selwood, is the company’s flagship coverall, the 399 Super Castle Coverall, manufactured out of a genuine 300gsm heavyweight poly cotton. It features an action back for freedom of movement to the wearer but also benefits from being of one-piece construction to allow printers and embroiders to embellish it without the worry of trying to contend with unsightly seams. Other features include brass zip front and pocket pips, pockets lined with self fabric, hammer loop, pen pocket and slant style breast pockets. It is available in chest sizes from 36” – 54”.
Historically the company has progressed from a basic boilersuit manufacturer to a large national importer of core work garments. Products are despatched on a next day service across the majority of the UK.
The range consists of standard coveralls with stud or zip front closure, through to quilted or Flame Safe flame retardant versions. The majority of the boilersuit range is branded with the company’s Blue Castle name.
“Fortress is another brand within our range,” adds Selwood. “Fortress garments are designed to protect the wearer/worker from the elements, be it wind or rain. Within the Fortress sub brand we also market the Fortex brand, which encompasses industrial products regularly used by fieldworkers and people in the fishing industry.”
Another new addition to this year’s catalogue is ForTex Air Flex – a much lighter weight range, which has the added advantage of being breathable and virtually noiseless in use, claims the company.
Fleece jackets with lined or unlined versions, waterproofs and an extensive range of work trousers, many with knee pad pockets and cargo pockets, are also available. Moving on from cargo style garments, the company also has another sub brand called Castle Combat. As its name suggests this includes camouflage garments ranging from work shorts, combat trousers and jackets to bodywarmers, hats and even children’s boilersuits.
In the printwear trade Castle Clothing currently enjoys great success with its 262 Harris Jacket, which it says makes an ideal addition to any uniform, offering warmth and protection from the wind and rain. “This jacket is a modern styled bomber jacket with a polyester outer shell and a fleece lined inner right up to the collar,” says Selwood. “Importantly as with many of our garments we have a large embroidery/printing access zip on the inner hem.”
Castle Clothing sells only through a national distributor network and says it has built a reputation with existing customers as a brand they can depend upon.
“When using any of our products to quote for workwear contracts you can be assured that you are supplying an extremely cost effective product which has been designed to perform well,” adds Selwood.
The company hopes its new 64- page catalogue will become a workwear reference brochure for customers to use on a daily basis. The catalogue is available in both priced and unpriced versions.
