The new and improved Printwear & Promotion Garment Decoration Awards 2008
This year some changes have been made to the garment decoration awards, held each year at the Printwear & Promotion Exhibition. Read on to find out more about how to enter…
Published:  01 November, 2007

This year two new categories – best digital inkjet print and best dye sublimation – have been added to the Garment Decoration Awards in a bid to cover all aspects of the industry and raise the profile of the awards.

It is also now a strict requirement that more information is submitted along with the entry about its production – for instance, details of origination and machinery used (not brand names). This is to assist the judges in making a fairer decision on the winners. A full list of required information can be found in point 6 of the Rules for Entry (see right).

As usual, the entries will be displayed throughout the three days of the Printwear & Promotion Exhibiton and judged on the first morning by a panel of industry judges selected by the organisers. But this year, in addition to the plaques awarded for first, second and third places, and announcements at the exhibition; winners’ businesses will be given greater editorial coverage in the magazine, in the issues following the exhibiton.

This year the eight categories are:

A – Best screen print
B – Best screen print using water based inks
C – Best digital inkjet print
D – Best dye sublimation
E – Best transfer print
F – Best embroidery design
G – Best decorated promotional accessory (nongarment)
H – Best decoration using methods not covered in A-G

The final date for entries to arrive at the postal address is Friday 8th February 2008, so don’t delay – start work on your entry today!
