Fruit of the Loom has more than trebled its stockholding of polo shirts going into 2005, following unprecedented customer demand throughout 2004.
The massive increase in stocks will ensure excellent availability across the entire 'Polos' collection going forward. 'Demand for our improved and updated Polos collection, launched in January 2004, has surpassed all expectations,' comments Alison Woodvine, Brand Manager.
'Customers welcomed the improvements to the garments' styling and fabric composition, and we were compelled to ramp up our production capacities to meet the unexpectedly high level of demand. This led to some customers' experiencing availability issues. By substantially increasing our stocks across the Polo collection in 2005, we will ensure that our valued customers always receive the consistently high standard of service for which Fruit of the Loom is renowned' said Alison.
The durable, easy care, adults' 65/35 Polo Shirt was especially popular with Fruit of the Loom customers throughout 2004. The company has increased the stock levels for this style by 333% compared with the stock levels in February 2004: millions of pieces are now in place and available for immediate delivery from Fruit of the Loom's European distribution centres.
Similarly, stocks of the complete 65/35 range, (comprising of the Heavy 65/35 Polo, 65/35 Polo and 65/35 Pocket Polo), have been increased by 328%, and those of the Premium Polo by 300%.
Fruit of the Loom supply eight adult polo shirt styles, for men and women, plus a 65/35 Polo for children. The Polos collection offers a choice of polyester/cotton, cotton/elastane and 100% cotton fabrics, long and short sleeve styles, contrast tipping and textured stripe detail, plain and pocket chest designs. Individual polo shirt styles are available in up to 16 colours.
