Brother has launched a new semi-commercial embroidery machine and range of accessories to help embroidery businesses and keen hobbyists increase productivity.
The launch of Brother’s first PR600 embroidery machine gave embroidery enthusiasts a way to turn their hobby into a commercial business and quickly proved popular, said Brother. The new PR620 is based on the same design but includes a range of mechanical and software enhancements as well as a choice of new frames.
The new frames include a unique cylinder frame, which enables users to quickly customise trouser legs, sleeves, golf club covers and other cylindrical items. The new cap frame has a larger sewing area, while the new flat frame is designed for easier handling of bulkier projects.
Steve Fothergill, head of embroidery and sewing solutions at Brother, said: “Our commercial embroidery range has been a big success, thanks to its small size and versatility. School badges, caps, uniforms, rugby shirts, workwear and almost anything else you can think of can all be embroidered. The machine is small enough to fit into a spare bedroom or workshop and will slot easily into the boot of most hatchbacks, meaning minimal space investment is required.”
He added: “With one head, six needles and a top speed of 1,000 stitches per minute the PR620 offers many features that can only be found on top-ofthe- range industrial embroidery machines.”
A built-in automatic needle threader eliminates time-consuming manual threading and the thread breakage sensors stop the machine if the thread breaks or runs out. Automatic colour changes can also be pre-programmed and the design information is retained after the machine has been switched off.
To support the launch Brother is also offering users of the existing PR600II a chance to upgrade their machine and software to enable use with the new frames for a discounted price.
Other new models have also been launched, including three new machines in the Innov-is range, aimed at beginners and intermediate users.
