January saw the commissioning of a new eight head ZSK embroidery machine by Leeds-based The T-shirt Printers.
The machine will be located on the sewing and packing floor that is currently undergoing refurbishment but will eventually house all of the company's packing, embroidery and label changing work.
An order has also been placed for a third MHM screen printing carousel, the second S Class 14/10 - the same machine that the company recently set its single eight hour shift record of 8027 prints.
New Business Manager Ben Kearney said, 'We have always offered a one stop shop but now we have every element in-house. The key client is going to be the speed at which we can supply label change, decorate and pack to the widest range of retail and promotional specifications – without chasing the garments around the country!'
The current project has required extra room, and the company has allocated 7,000 square feet in its 24,000 sq ft building. Commercial Director Joe Moore said, '7,000 square feet is a lot of space - it means that we want to expand the facility as quickly as we can - hopefully with a further two machines in 2005.'
