He explained: “I always check the bulletin board as there is an abundance of general requests from distributors and suppliers urgently looking for promotional products.

“One of these was from an insurance company looking for 5,000 gift bags for its employees including mouse mats, mugs, pens, a puzzle and polo shirts.We responded to the enquiry and supplied all these products branded and printed in two and full colour. This turned out to be an amazing order totalling £60,000, which would lead to much more.”

Having established a relationship with the company, Premier Promotional Products has since supplied cufflinks, pin badges, ties and pashminas, to name but a few.

“This client is now valued at £150,000 to my company,” said Reynalds. “What’s interesting is that this company, not a high street insurer, was not on our target list. This opportunity was generated entirely through the channel of the BPMA website.”

He added: “For the cost of membership to the Association, companies can have free unlimited access to the BPMA’s bulletin board and all the other services and member benefits.

“Using the BPMA bulletin board for leads is, without doubt, the most cost effective route to gaining new business. It will also free up time to concentrate on customer service and can allow you the time to build a rapport, and work with loyal retained customers.”
