Following the acquisition of the Stag group at the end of last year, the Blue Max Group claims to now be the most comprehensive supplier of schoolwear in the UK. The first ever Blue Max Stag combined catalogue, which will be available to customers from November 2007, offers everything a child needs for the school year, says the company.
The range includes polos, sweatshirts, knitwear, skirts, shirts and jackets for every day and a comprehensive range of sportswear, now grouped under the 'Medallion' brand name.
The Penthouse Polo was one of the first garments to be introduced into the Blue Max portfolio and the unrivalled quality of this garment has been pivotal to the company's success, believes Mary Fawcus, the company's business development director. “More and more often, new customers approach Blue Max to buy their products because their schoolwear customers have specifically asked for the brand, by name,” she says. “Parents and teachers can be confident that our garments are superbly well-made and thus retain their colour and shape despite the rigours imposed on them by active school children.”
Blue Max predicts that the Penthouse Polo will continue to be the schools' favourite polo shirt into the 2007/08 academic year. This hard-wearing 210gsm 65/35% Poly/Cotton shirt can be washed at 60 degrees and tumbled dried with virtually no degradation of colour, shrinkage or pilling.
Another predicted bestseller for the new academic year is the Exmoor Jacket, which offers an extra warm layer to wear over school uniform when the temperature starts to drop. The stylish jacket is made from a peached, microfibre Maxtech performance fabric that is waterproof and breathable but with a luxurious padded lining. The jacket also features a number of added extras, sure to appeal to kids, including an inner pocket for an MP3 player with headphone access. For safety, there is reflective piping on the body and sleeves. And for pupils who walk or cycle to school and require extra visibility, Blue Max offers Hi Vis Vests in children's sizes and at favourable prices.
Medallion – the new brand name within Blue Max Stag, which incorporates a wide range of high quality sports gear – is gearing up for the autumn term rugby season. Medallion offers an extensive range of rugby shirts for both boys and girls – one of the widest available in the UK and encompassing a wealth of styles and a number of different fabrics.
Stock items range from the popular, traditional Scrummager Cotton shirt, the Stag Acrylic or Poly Cotton shirt or the competitively priced 'Value' 100% acrylic shirts. There is also a bespoke service.
The Medallion range also includes a football strip made from high performance CIBA polyester fabric; and the Reflector Tracksuit, made from a soft-feel peached microfibre fabric. The top and bottoms, sold separately, feature reflective piping for high visibility. The tracksuit top also has a mesh lining.
There is also a wide variety of shorts, from the popular shadow stripe shorts to the robust, senior England shorts, including a variety of twill and drill shorts for many sports activities.
