Children are tough on clothes with their playful, non-stop nature. Choosing garments able to endure hours of play in all manner of environments can therefore be a difficult job for schools and parents. Materials that can withstand the daily rigours of a child at play, whilst remaining gentle to their skin, are the demands of the day.
With the leading brands ever improving the quality of the products they offer, parents and schools alike have a greater choice than ever before. This is great news, says Ralawise, but can also lead to a confusion of choices, which is why it has introduced the Ralawise Schoolwear mini brochure for 2007. Featuring a cross section of key styles from the industry’s leading brands, this mini brochure offers a starting point for anyone looking to source quality schoolwear products.
A key brand featured for Ralawise this year is Maddins, which has long been recognised as providing high quality schoolwear products. A fine example of this is the MD01B kid’s raglan sweatshirt. This easycare crew neck sweatshirt is made from 45% acrylic, 30% cotton, 15% polyester and 10% mixed fibres. The extensive range of colours means almost all school colours are available and the colours retain their vibrancy even after repeated washing.
Many schools use a quality T-shirt to make up part of their school uniform and schools looking to source a colour that may fall out of the ‘norm’ need look no further than Gildan’s GD05B heavy cotton youth T-shirt, which comes in 25 colours. Schools requiring a polo as part of the uniform can choose from 11 colours with Fruit of the Loom’s SS417 65/35 pique polo. Made from an easycare 65% polyester, 35% cotton blend, the polo has a taped back neck seam for added comfort, twobutton placket with self coloured buttons and ribbed flat knit collar and cuffs.
Jerzees Schoolgear offers a wide variety of schoolwear including T-shirts, polos and sweats. The J710B true knit sweater has that traditional school look and is available in core school colours. This fully-fashioned knitted v-neck sweater with set-in sleeves is available in sizes to fit ages 3/4 through to 11/12 year olds.
For jackets, Result offers a dedicated range aimed at children of school age. The R150J Rugged Stuff junior long lined coat is ideal wear for the playground during the winter months. The coat is extremely hardwearing and is 100% waterproof with an easy close tear release front storm flap. Three reflective tabs and two front pockets with two reflective tabs add a much needed safety element for the dark days during winter.
BagBase introduced the BG050 junior flow backpack for 2007. With its adequate storage space this backpack is an ideal and practical solution for carrying school books, lunch and games kit. Available in a choice of four colours the bag has reflective accents, a zippered internal pocket and padded back panel to support and add comfort whilst carrying.
New to Ralawise for 2007 was the Larkwood range. Aimed at the youngest of all, Ralawise offers the LW30T zip neck microfleece and LW40T polo shirt for babies and toddlers. Made from 100% microfleece and 100% cotton respectively, both styles are ideal for toddlers attending playgroup.
