With effect from 1st January 2005, the company changed its name to Amann-Donisthorpe UK Limited, reflecting the positive alliance between Donisthorpe and its parent company of four years - the international thread giant Amann and Söhne GmbH.

The new name will coincide with the company's long awaited move to a new site on Sheene Road, on the Gorse Hill Industrial Estate of Beaumont Leys in Leicester, just three miles from its old site in Bath Lane. The new Amann-Donisthorpe site will operate as the headoffice of the Amann Group's international operations in the UK, Eire and Morocco.

All of the company's existing 30 UK staff and operations will be transferred to the site including its extensive stock of fashion, embroidery and technical threads together with its distribution, laboratory testing, colour analysis, international customer service, sales, technical and pre-production support teams.

A new Amann-Donisthorpe logo has been designed to reflect the company's group identity and will be co-ordinated with the opening of the Sheene Road site. To ensure customer service is uninterrupted during the move, Amann will mobilise its quick response capabilities within its global manufacturing and distribution network in Europe, the Far East and North Africa. The company's highly successful Moroccan operation, which now employs over 60 people, will be unaffected by the changes.

Kenny McMaster, who will continue as Managing Director of Amann-Donisthorpe UK Limited said, 'The move to new premises and our new identity will conclude a period of unprecedented change for the company. Driven by forces within the global textile industry we have, with the support of the Amann Group, made all the adjustments necessary to respond to our customers' international product and delivery requirements. The name change reflects the significance with which the Amann Group views the UK and Morocco and both these areas will benefit from future investment.'

Mr McMaster continued, 'We will be sorry to leave the historic Bath Lane site with all of its memories but are delighted with the modern benefits afforded by our new premises. It will boast a state of the art warehouse with a purpose designed stock, order, distribution and logistics system in addition to a high tech colour and testing laboratory, extremely comfortable customer showroom and office accommodation. It is ideally suited to the rapid response needs of our business.'
