Xpres offers a number of solutions for digital textile personalisation, each combining low set-up and consumable costs with the ability to produce shorter runs of personalised clothing and gifts both quickly and profitably.
The Ultragraphics system is a versatile package that combines the best-selling Xpres Cut vinyl cutter with a choice of printers. In addition to producing single and multi colour logos, this system will also produce full colour, fine detail transfers. The vinyl cutter has an optical alignment system that automatically detects registration marks produced by the printer, enabling fast and accurate cutting out of transfers.
The most popular printer choice for the Ultragraphics system is an inkjet printer that’s combined with Durabrite inks and Xpres Ink Jet Dark transfer paper, says Xpres. This process offers superior print quality and resulting transfers are incredibly easy to apply to both cotton and polyester garments. An additional benefit of Ink Jet Dark is that it can be washed at 80°C, making it ideal for work wear, corporate wear and sports wear applications.
Introduced to the European market more than 27 years ago, the use of sublimation has dramatically increased within the personalisation industry following continual research and development, says Xpres. The process itself allows users to imprint a design or image onto products with a polymerbased surface with a superior colour gamut. Artwork is designed or scanned into the computer and reversed to produce a mirror image. The design is then printed using sublimation ink onto sublimation transfer paper and heat applied to the receptive product such as a coated mug, using the relevant heat press.
Xpres’ own brand of sublimation ink, Subli-Print, is now supplied in bottles for use with a feeder system available for the Epson R1800. This method of printing is extremely cost-effective, substantially reducing the price of a transfer, says Xpres.
Xpres also supplies high quality T-shirts and polo shirts specifically designed for use with a sublimation transfer system. Tailored from a blend of polyester/cotton, the Subli-T range grants a superior printing surface with durable and high-performing results. “Wash after wash your transfer will remain flawless, retain stretchiness and stay resistant to cracking and fading,” it claims. Available in both adults and children’s sizes, the range also incorporates a women’s fit V-neck T-shirt and women’s pique polos.
Full colour photography can additionally be applied to a range of high quality gifts such as mugs, coasters, mousemats and bags.
