Part of the popularity of the fleece is that it lends itself to a variety of environments, from the workplace to high activity outdoor leisure pursuits. Take for instance Fruit of the Loom’s SS556 Zip Neck Micro. The 100% polyester breathable pill resistant microfleece fabric makes it ideal wear for autumn strolls in the countryside. It is available in six colours, so is a very popular choice with wearers.

One of the strongest sellers in the Result range is the RE36A full zip Active fleece. The fleece has a clear casual/smart look and is available for both adults and children, in nine colours.

A key style in the Premier range is the PR806 Polartec Wind Pro interactive fleece. This fleece is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts thanks to its water repellent finish and the fact that it offers four times more wind resistance than traditional fleece, says Ralawise. The fleece is breathable and machine washable, making it easy to wash off dirt.

RTY’s HV072 high visibility full zip fleece is ideal for the industrial work environment, with its fluorescent orange and yellow colours and reflective tape band over shoulders and around the torso. Sizes range from small to 5XL. The fleece conforms to the EN471: Class 2 regulation.
