With summer now well underway focus once more moves to the opportunities the winter months will bring for printers and decorators. One of the main areas of focus will be jackets and various other forms of outerwear, including fleece, gilets, bodywarmers and more.
Scope for sales in this particular sector continue to offer businesses tremendous opportunities, says Ralawise, which remains focused on meeting demand from customers with what it claims is one of the highest levels of stock on jackets and outerwear in the industry. “Whether looking for a suitable jacket for businesses, schools, clubs or societies, Ralawise has something to meet all requirements, with a wide variety of classic and new styles.”
One of the much talked about arrivals to the jacket arena this year has been the launch of soft shell. Tipped by many to out sell fleece over the coming years, Ralawise offers the entire range of Result soft shell styles that are creating much excitement within the industry. A total of five styles are available, and the R120A Soft Shell Activity Jacket is a fine example of the quality of this range, says Ralawise. Available in a choice of three colours and sizes S to XXL, the jacket incorporates 345g/m2 Soft Shell three-layer bonded fabric: Outer-layer: 93% Polyester/7% Spandex; mid-layer: TPU breathable membrane; and Inner-layer Micro Fleece for extra warmth. Features include two large front zip closing pockets, one inside pocket and one inside phone pocket, adjustable shock cord hem, zip opening underarm vents with mesh backing and decorative front & back yoke. Specially designed to offer maximum protection against the elements this jacket is ideal for outdoor pursuits and sports.
For 2007 Premier has introduced the PR821 GORE-TEX® Windstopper® Energy Three Layer Soft Shell Jacket. The jacket is made from a combination of materials over various layers – the outer layer is made from tough ripstop nylon with hydrophobic finish, the functional layer is made from ePFTE GORE-TEX membrane and the thermal layer is made from 100% PES microfleece.
The materials combine to make the jacket 100% windproof, water resistant and abrasion resistant and with a reflective piping across front and back this jacket is ideal for anyone working in an outdoor environment.
Kariban has added to its range of continental styles this year with the introduction of the KB687 Eagle Jacket. This casual lined windbreaker has a 100% nylon 210T shell and grey marl polyester jersey lining. With concealed hood and an inside and two outside pockets, the choice of seven colours makes this jacket a popular choice with customers.
Jerzees Colours continue to offer a wide range of stylish fleece for men and women, including the J870M full zip outdoor fleece. Made from 100% polyester anti-pill fleece fabric, this style has a turn back hem with cord and toggle, fashioned cuffs and front zip pockets. A female equivalent (J873M) is also available.
Fruit of the Loom has this year introduced the kids’ college jacket. With sizes suitable for age five to 15 years old, the jacket is available in a choice of six colours, meaning schools or clubs should hopefully be able to find an appropriate colour to make up part of a kit or winter uniform. The jacket has a storm flap, covering zip and collar enclosing nylon hood both with stud fastenings, and the single jersey lining opens for accessible printing and embroidery.
