The printwear and promotions industry is a great example of a vibrant, customer-focused sector, and with around 14,000 people employed in the industry, it is certainly important to the UK clothing and textile sector as a whole. We have already conducted a number of research projects designed to show what employers need most from the skills training and qualifications infrastructure. There are many initiatives underway which aim to tackle the mis-investment in training and to make sure that employers can access public funding for training that has been designed specifically to suit their needs. For example, Skillfast-UK is working with employers to create a modular distribution services qualification, which is especially relevant to this industry.

Skillfast-UK has also established a number of Sector Advisory Boards made up of representatives from key employers and industry bodies across the clothing and textiles sector.
