Fairtrade clothing from Wombat comprises three summer tops for women that are entirely in keeping with Wombat’s surfer-inspired fashion range. The tops, two of which are new this year, are being snapped up by Wombat fans, who typically like the Fairtrade connection, says PenCarrie.

Unusually for an organic cotton collection, the Okarma range comes in a choice of colours, as well as un-dyed natural. Dyestuffs used to colour the cotton have Control Union and Oeko-Tex approval. The OK10 Organic Premium T-Shirt for men is made from 180gsm, 100% certified organic combed cotton single jersey, while the OK11 Ladies Organic Fitted T-Shirt is made from a lighter weight 160gsm fabric and has a flattering feminine cut. Finally, the OK20 Organic Pique Polo Shirt is a unisex design, made from 225gsm 100% certified organic combed cotton pique. It has a traditional three-button placket, taped neck and twin needle stitching at neck, sleeves and hem.

PenCarrie stocks all three of Wombat’s Fairtrade designs in all its colourways. The WB165 Girls Airlie Top, new for this year, is a halter neck vest in super fine jersey that has contrast shoestring ties and a fake wrap front.

The second newcomer, WB162 Tissica Tee, is a vneck top in single jersey, which has a centre ruche and faux bikini insert. One colourway, seasurf (with calico insert), has contrast printed straps; while the second colourway is turkish delight (with pink insert).

The last in Wombat’s Fairtrade trio is the WB158 Girls Noosa Vest, first available last year and, according to PenCarrie, still very popular. This is a double layered, reversible vest in super fine jersey, with twisted shoulders adding to its appeal. Colourways are: mocha/aqua or indigo/calico.
