Men are fickle creatures but invariably their tastes never change, says Henbury. “The majority of men will still be wearing the same polo shirt, jumper and pair of chinos in 10 years time, but thank goodness the corporate and business wear market has changed in the last 10 years,” it says.
“Men are now offered a varied array of styles, colours, fits and fabric finishes to choose from. The Classic Cotton Polo Shirts are still there, but they now come in a huge variety of colours and there are now so many fancy and fashionable styles as well.”
Henbury says it has been at the forefront of this change with its collection of team style polo shirts, contemporary T-shirts and sweats and its corporate business wear collection – all fully co-ordinating with a ladies range. The Henbury menswear collection offers a total cross product range from polo shirts, woven shirts, trousers, sweatshirts, fleece jackets, outerwear and even belts and boxer shorts. The men’s polo shirt collection boasts 24 styles including the Classic Cotton and Poly Cotton Polo Shirts. The 100% Cotton (H100) is available in 34 colours, and now has the addition of the Henbury Stand Up Collar; while the 65/35 is available in 20 colours and in sizes S-5XXL, catering for the whole workforce.
Meanwhile, fancy styles, such as the stripe collection including the mid stripe H280, wide stripe (H281) and multi stripes (H282), offer a fashion alternative to the classic plain polos to make a workforce stand out from the crowd.
The polyester/cotton blend fabrics such as the H400 Polo Shirts have the strength and easy care properties of polyester, with the softness and durability of cotton, says Henbury. The Henbury H400 65/35 Polo Shirt will wash at 60°C and has a matching ladies wear Polo (H401) which is offered in 12 colours and size range XS-3XL. A heavier alternative is the H410 – considered the ultimate double pique Polo Shirt in terms of durability and easy care properties, with a fabric weight of 250gsm and now in eight colours for 2007.
Henbury’s Menswear Collection for business wear contains lightweight and classic oxford shirts, stretch poplin shirts and some contemporary checks. It also features performance fabrics such as wrinkleresistant finishes in shirts and Teflon® coatings in the trouser collection – important as stain protection is one of the fastest growing categories in performance enhancing treatments, adds Henbury.
There are two news styles in the fast expanding outerwear collection: the Kinross Jacket, which is a fully waterproof team wear jacket for men; and the Henbury Munro Jacket, made in the revolutionary new Soft Shell fabric which has excellent performance properties.
The Lightweight Showerproof Jacket Collection, co-ordinated for men and women, has been designed to be worn alone or zipped into the Microfleece Jacket (H850 for men) for extra warmth. “The potential to co-ordinate the Microfleece with the variety of colours offers excellent promotion opportunities, matching company colours to create a three-in-one combination that looks smart, functional and is a moving advertisement,” says Henbury.
Henbury’s Micro Fleece collection features 100% polyester with an anti pill finish and a weight of 280gsm. Henbury has also developed a specific Micro Fleece, which has a closer cut pile, giving the warmth of heavier pilled fleeces but with less bulk. “This fabric has proved to be particularly popular throughout the UK and Europe and offers wide versatility and flexibility in all areas of promotion and workwear,” says Henbury.
