MiRiCal Emblems wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise

MiRiCal directors Jonathan Dul and Mark Tacey celebrate having been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Nottinghamshire-based screen and digital printer, MiRiCal Emblems has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

The award was personally approved by the Queen following an exceptional 58% growth in export sales over the last three years with exports now accounting for more than 75% of the company’s annual turnover.

In the official Queen’s Awards for Enterprise press book it was stated that MiRiCal has overcome stiff UK competition by entering new markets, predominantly in Europe, through a well planned and progressive strategy of establishing its own local sales and support staff in a growing number of locations. In addition, MiRiCal also engaged in licenced manufacturing further afield, which led to the significant increase in export sales.

Managing director, Jonathan Dul, said: “The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a real honour that gives national recognition to the hard-working men and women in our team. To have the time and effort spent developing our export business recognised in this way is fantastic news and we want to go forward and continue to build this important area of our business.”

MiRiCal was one of six recipients of a Queen’s Award in the East Midlands and one of only 201 recipients nationwide.

Business secretary, Greg Clark, added: “These prestigious awards help shine a light on all that is great about UK business today. I am extremely impressed to see such a wealth of talent and innovation from across the UK being recognised by Her Majesty The Queen.

“These awards recognise the innovative products and services being provided by British businesses that are in demand across the world, as well as the sheer determination and hard work that comes with starting and running a business.

“Many of these winners are small businesses – the backbone of our economy – and we are backing them to grow, increase their productivity and create more jobs and opportunity across the UK through our modern industrial strategy.”

Established in 1993, MiRiCal is a second-generation family business and leading supplier of heat-applied garment decoration products to the workwear, safetywear and sportswear sectors.

MiRiCal will celebrate its award at a royal reception at Buckingham Palace for Queen’s Award winners in the summer.
