Polyprint, the manufacturer of Texjet Plus Advanced direct to garment printers, has released at FESPA 2015 one of the biggest innovations in DTG technology.
It is now possible to print on to dark garments without pre-coating and at a cost of around 15p per garment with production of up to 60 dark garments per hour.
Polyprint has combined the two printing techniques of digital and screen printing to offer revolutionary benefits such as:
- Greatly reduced ink cost on dark garments
- Big increase in productivity
- No pre-coating required
- The ability to create special effects such as glitter, gold foil etc. which are not normally possible with DTG printing
Polyprint has produced a platen that can be used on both the screen printer and on the Texjet Plus DTG printer. The white ink is printed on the screen printer and then transferred on to the Texjet Plus to print the CMYK with perfect registration
Any separation software can be used like Photoshop in order to create the white under base file to burn the screen. The Texjet RIP (included with the TexjetPLUS printer) can also create the white layer and export it as a high resolution file to be used for the screen making. The same file is used with the printer to print digitally the CMYK colors. The Texjet RIP comes with special ICC profiles for the screen+digital mix to guarantee excellent print results.
This new development can be added to any Texjet Plus printer and will greatly increase production and massively reduce print costs.

Also released was the Texjet Plus Advanced Long version. This has a maximum printable area of 40x95cm with multi platen options for higher production.
