New screen fabric stretcher from G.G.Cade

G.G.Cade Technologies has developed a new simplified, inexpensive Screen Fabric Stretcher.

Known as Kwik Stretch System, it requires no fabric clamps and no special skills to achieve perfect screen fabric tension.

The System uses specially designed two-part profiles which lock together to hold the fabric securely.

The frame is surrounded by a special pneumatic tube which is inflated to add tension to the fabric.  The whole process takes only 3 or 4 minutes to produce perfectly tensioned screen fabric up to 112cm².

G.G.Cade Managing Director, Lewis Stovin advises “The idea was to create a high quality, portable fabric tensioning system that is easy to use and can be set up on any work bench and used by anyone in the printing department.  Within a few minutes, screen fabrics can be prepared and stretched to the required tension.

One of the great advantages of the system is that the fabric tension is consistent across the whole fabric area and in both directions, right to the edges.  With a conventional stretcher, no matter how carefully the fabric is positioned and tensioned, there will always be higher tension in the corners and along the sides, compared with the central area.  With the Kwik Stretch System, the pneumatic tube applies tension equally across the whole area giving much better control of fabric tension, more consistent screens, better control of ink deposit and better print consistency.

It will be of particular interest to the solar and electronics industries where fabric tension and ink deposit are critical but it is so inexpensive that anyone needing a quick, simple fabric stretcher would welcome the System as it offers performance, consistency and control at a bargain price”

Kwik Stretch Systems are offered at a fraction of the price of conventional stretchers with prices starting at under £300 ex VAT.

The range currently covers 7 standard sizes from 36 x 36cm up to 112 x 112cm but the company also offers “bespoke sizes” with any permutation of width and length between the two size limits without premium pricing.

Kwik Stretch is supplied in simple kit form saving on manufacturing, packing and shipping costs.  In only 5 minutes, it can assembled using the Allen key provided.  The kit includes an illustrated instruction leaflet and a DVD.  Using Kwik Stretch is also on YouTube.
