Thousands of M&S staff around the world will now be clothed in uniforms provided by corporate clothing specialist Incorporatewear.

Incorporatewear won the contract earlier this year after proving its capabilities by supplying the new wardrobe for M&S Bank in just 10 weeks from concept to delivery.

And so, the company was awarded the contract to provide uniform for 68,000 UK employees of the retail business, in the process completing the largest single piece of business in the firm’s history.

The deal means a 25% hike in the company’s turnover, a warehouse expansion and the addition of around 10 new staff to its workforce of 75.

The Coleshill-based company uses pioneering new innovations such as the use of technical fabrics, flexible ordering and apps to allow staff to order their uniform online.

Mike Tozer, Incorporatewear’s general manager director, said: “This is a huge moment, and we are very proud to be associated with one of the world’s best brands. It is a testament to the ‘can do’ attitude of our people, who provide outstanding service to our clients every day.

“Including several franchises from around the world, we are in the unique position of being able to supply suits to a retailer which sells suits. I’m delighted that the collection has been so well received. It was a tough challenge to raise the game with minimal disruption to staff, but we have high standards, both in terms of customer service and quality of the products.”

The Marks & Spencer retail uniform – which includes blazers, blouses and jumpers – is based on a recent redesign combining the retailer’s green and grey colours. Alongside retail food and clothing staff, Incorporatewear will also be supplying beauty, hospitality and service station personnel.

In total, it will be shipping around 400,000 Marks & Spencer garments a year. To manage demand, Incorporatewear has launched a dedicated website to allow Marks & Spencer personnel to order online. It will also be expanding its helpdesk and account management team.
