Although not the classic choices in the hooded top market, this year Cottonridge has reported a marked increase in orders for pastel coloured hoods, with sales of baby pink, powder blue and corn almost doubling since spring last year.
Though firm favourites like black, navy, grey and maroon have held their place in the market, the fresher pastel shades have also been proving extremely popular, particularly in the leavers’ and retail markets.
Cottonridge suggests that the current success of these colourways could be due to this year’s sunny weather and the general trend towards lighter, more summery shades in 2018.
